Used Gibson ES Guitars
The
Electric Spanish (ES) Series - extremely flexible and popular. The Gibson
ES series is a semi-solid/hollow body electric guitar, it is neither hollow nor solid;
instead, a solid wood block runs through the center of its body, but the sides
are hollow and sport violin-style f-holes. There are many models in this series
such as the ES 294, ES 335, ES 339, and ES 125. Released
in 1958 the ES 335 is notable as it was
the world's first commercial semi-hollowbody. The ES series is an attempt to
find a middle ground between solid and hollow bodies, which are prone to feedback when amplified
loudly, the result is a warmer tone than a solid body with almost as little
feedback. The ES series can be easily confused with the almost identical range
produced by Gibson’s sister company Epiphone. The ES series has proved to be extremely
flexible and is popular in a wide range of music including jazz, rock and blues.
